Chloe’s Story
Hey friends!
I'll give you a minute to get over your state of shock that I've decided to do this...
On 10th May 2025, I will be taking on the 15K Tough Mudder with over 20+ obstacles alongside Chelsea, Scarlet, Max and Emily in honour of my Mum. I am raising money for Alzheimer's Research to help them continue their mission of finding a cure for such a life changing disease.
In November 2022, my Mother, Sara, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease with early on-set Dementia. My Mum is only 58 years old, she has lost her ability to take care of herself and communicate with us in such a short space of time. No one is ever prepared to have their life turned upside down the way my Mum family has. However, I watch her everyday overcome physical barriers and fears to helps us look after her. She shakes walking down the stairs, but she still walks down. Her speech is limited, but she'll find ways to tell us what she needs. She feels pain getting in and out of bed, but she will do it no matter how long it takes. She still cracks up laughing, despite having very little to laugh about. Quite simply, my Mum is the toughest person I know.
I am taking on training to complete the Tough Mudder because my Mum has inspired and shown me what a person can achieve, despite the obstacles they have in front of them.
Sara is an ICON.
I will be posting training updates, anecdotes about my Mum and paying tribute to my support system over the next 9 months to motivate myself and share what this really means to me.
